Why Cross Over?
There are many goals in creating a new Ministry Center. As we CROSS OVER, we hope to have a worship space that, although still a multi-use space, is equipped for better sound and video possibilities. Especially, we hope to be able to worship together, at least for a time, in a single worship service, allowing us to enjoy the full fellowship we value so as a congregation.

The importance of children and young adults to the future of this congregation is also clear. We need look no further than our recent youth-led services to realize how the active presence of our children energizes and reinvigorates all of us. A commitment to a new Ministry Center is also a commitment to our youth and to their place in our future.

Background on Crossing Over
Our current lease expires on February 28, 2012; less than three years from now.

Existing space is not adequate. Experience has shown that, if seating at worship is crowded, visitors - potential new members - can be turned off, and are likely to drop us from their “possibilities” list when they consider a new church home.

Without growth, resources needed to fulfill the mission tasks God is asking us to accomplish in this community will fall short.

Whenever tested, with God's help, this congregation has always demonstrated seriousness of purpose. Remember how we beat expectations on Miracle Sunday Oct. 8, 2006!

That 2006 blessing, and a similarly blessed Crossing Over result this year, are the building blocks that have enabled us to get a good financing package for the construction of our new Ministry Center.

So there you have it:
The success of the Crossing Over Capital Funds Campaign determined the size of our construction loan, which determined the size of our new space, and the size of our budget for furnishings, etc.

Our Finance and Building Committees originally came up with a preliminary estimate: They found that if the Lord moved us to pledge a total of S300,000 to be paid into the Crossing Over Campaign over three years, we would make plans to construct a 5,500 to 6,000 sq. ft. building, which will include seating for 220 to 250 worshippers. As we all know, our Crossing Over Campaign goal was not only met, but surpassed by everyone's generosity.
